1. There are several questions that have been asked about how to set up for a drive in your local community and how to pack up the boxes and send them. First off there are many areas that have local groups collecting donations. These consist of scout groups, church groups, school groups and some businesses have joined together to collect items for this program. I have been asked about how to do boxes to set up for collections and I would suggest that you go into Forums and into the Photos sections and print out articles and pictures and post them on containers such as are listed below. You need to put on these containers what they are for and how a person can in touch with who ever is collecting in your area. If boxes are put in public areas, keep track of the contents and keep them emptied and as convenient as possible for the business that is allowing you to do this.

2. Next when you start collecting and get ready to mail, you will need a good strong box to ship the items in. Also if you are sending food items make sure they are like hard candies, individual boxes of items and nothing that will melt or spill onto other items. The same for toiletries, keep in separate packaging using plastic or whatever to keep from coming in contact with the other items. Do not send anything that may burst or cause any kind of problem. Bubble wrap can be bought from your local dollar store which can be a big help. Tape your boxes with a good strong tape. You will need to put the address on the front and your return address must be on the package.

3. You will also need a customs slip that will have to be filled out completely and you may want to pick these up at your post office ahead of time and have it ready when you are ready to mail. You will have to list the contents as close as possible, but don't get stressed out over every item if you are off a little. You can always get help from your local post office with filling these out.

4 When you are ready to mail we will lneed your name, address, #boxes you are sending and the estimated value of your donation. We do not give out addresses until you have this info for us and you are ready to mail the boxes. Deployments change quickly and they need to be mailed at the time you receive addresses.
